Course Description

This hands-on course provides a brief review of AutoCAD 2015 2-D commands then concentrates on intermediate AutoCAD concepts and features to enhance productivity. Topics include: Drawing prototypes; Advanced dimension editing: dimensions and dimension styles; Intermediate level usage of blocks; External References (XREFs); Introduction to attributes and data extraction; Advanced paper space and model space concepts; Intermediate file management and plotting techniques; CAD Customization.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Use advanced text objects and annotative scaling.
  2. Use fields in drawings; set and change the draw order of objects; work with basic tables.
  3. Use dynamic blocks; create basic dynamic blocks.
  4. Work with attributed blocks in a drawing; create blocks with attributes; extract attribute data.
  5. Create external reference blocks in a drawing; edit external references.
  6. Use different methods to plot a drawing; plot to a DWF, DWFx or PDF file.
  7. Use online and collaborative tools such as eTransmit and Autodesk 360.
  8. Work with Sheet Sets; create a sheet set and add sheets to it.
  9. Use CAD standards and adjust the system setup with the OPTIONS command; manage layers effectively.
  10. Customize AutoCAD’s menu system to enhance productivity.
